This last Federal Congress of the PSOE, held in Seville, ratified him as socialist general secretary and his new leadership.

From here, Sánchez reprimanded the PP for the “attacks” on the Housing Law, announcing that the Government will respond to “popular” policies with the creation of a large public housing company “capable of building and managing housing” AGE.

The creation of a public company has been one of the main demands of parties to the left of the PSOE, which have taken this approach as one of the measures to be implemented to respond to the housing crisis that has led to several demonstrations in the main Spanish cities.

The socialists have sought to give a relevant role to the issue of housing with a lot of dialogue with the sector's minister, Isabel Rodríguez, to highlight the Housing Law approved by the Executive.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda, Isabel Rodríguez, criticized the housing policy of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, during her speech at the first panel of the 41st Federal Congress of the PSOE in Seville, which she has accused of “holding back” the Government action in this matter. And he opted, once again, for regulation, because, as he said, “the open bar in housing policy is suffocating millions of people”.

During her speech, Isabel Rodríguez praised the performance of Pedro Sánchez's Government in matters of housing, with the approval of the Housing Law, although she denounced some attitudes on the part of PP communities, more specifically in Madrid.

"Ms. Ayuso is causing thousands of Madrid residents to be trapped in a rental market that implies they have to allocate 60%, 70% or 80% of their salary, if not 100%, to pay the rent" , criticized Isabel Rodríguez.

In this regard, he argued that the PSOE “says regulation” because, as he specified, “the open bar does not work” in terms of housing, highlighting that the socialist mayors of the Community of Madrid effectively demand that Ayuso put into effect the Housing Law that is in progress.

“This Government believes in the State of Autonomies and respects its powers, but above all it demands that these powers are always exercised in favor of citizens”.
