Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport was, once again, the most used airport infrastructure in September, with 5.8 million passengers, 8.6% more compared to the same month last year.

This was followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport, with more than five million passengers (+10.3% compared to September 2023), Palma de Mallorca with just over four million (+5.5%), Málaga with 2.5 million (+10.4%), Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández with 1.8 million (+15.3%), Ibiza with 1.2 million (-0.2%), Gran Canaria with 1 , 1 million (+6.6%) and Valencia with just over a million (+11.5%).

In terms of aircraft movements, the leadership also belongs to Madrid airport with 36,457 movements (+7.5%), followed by El Prat in Barcelona with 31,683 (+11.3) and Palma de Mallorca with 28,191 (+ 6.2%), in September 2024.

The AENA group (comprised of 46 airports and two heliports in Spain, London-Luton airport and 17 airports in Brazil) handled a total of 282.7 million passengers in the first nine months of 2024, corresponding to an increase of 8.9 % compared to the same period in 2023. In the ninth month of the current fiscal year, AENA's entire airport infrastructure closed with 34.8 million passengers, that is, 7% more than in September 2023, having handled 292,139 aircraft ( +5.8%).
