This data reflects a significant increase in demand, both on domestic and international routes, highlighting among the airports that recorded the greatest increase in operations, Alicante-Elche Airport, with 552 additional flights compared to 2023, followed by Madrid-Barajas with over 495 flights.

In November, the domestic routes with the highest volume of operations in Spain were Gran Canaria-Tenerife Norte and Barcelona-Palma de Mallorca. The Gran Canaria-Tenerife North connection registered 772 flights, closely followed by the reverse Tenerife North-Gran Canaria route, with 768 flights. The route between Gran Canaria and Lanzarote accumulated 679 flights, tied with the Lanzarote-Gran Canaria reverse route.

Likewise, international air traffic between Spain and European destinations recorded growth of 6.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. In total, 42,259 flights were recorded.

The leading airlines in terms of total operations in November in Spain were Ryanair and Iberia. Ryanair led the way with 22,086 flights, while Iberia followed with 17,664 operations. The domestic market was dominated by Iberia and Binter.

In terms of punctuality, the main airlines in Spain were TUI Airlines Belgium and Sundair, considering both domestic and international flights and only taking into account airlines that operated at least 100 flights during the month.

The number of flight cancellations in Spain during the month of November increased compared to the same period last year. In November 2023, 290 flights were cancelled, while in 2024 this number rose to 380.

One of the main factors behind this increase was DANA, which caused more than 70 flights to be cancelled in a single day in Barcelona due to adverse weather conditions. With regard to delays, flights delayed by more than three hours represented 0.3% of total flights operated in November.
