The Emergency services began receiving the first calls from people at 10:30 am local time on Saturday.
Citizens reported feeling scared and that there were people running away who were "very afraid." They also said that the animal was "out of control", reports El Mundo.
It transpires that the wild boar had travelled several kilometres and, upon realising that the tranquiliser darts did not work to calm the animal, the authorities found themselves forced to put it down.
