The Golden Visa, which will expire by 3rd April, is rushing foreigners to buy a house in the region to ease any bureaucratic aspect that is residing in a new country. elDiario reveals that 1247 properties were bought, 13 percent more when compared to 2023.

On average, buyers are paying €117,800 for each property. In the case of a second-hand property, the price drops to €110,000, but if they opt for a new apartment or house, the cost soars to €263,800, states elDiario. Nevertheless, in consequence of the lack of new construction, foreigners tend to buy second-hand property.

The trend is confirmed by the Galician Association of Real Estate Agencies (Agalin), who also mentioned that the United States and Mexico, for example, were the main buyers in the last year.
