First due to the serious consequences of confinement and movement restrictions during 2020 and 2021, but then due to the greater interest of investors in the hotel sector in the face of the boom in tourism in Spain, and the massive arrival of foreign tourists to the country, where everything indicates that record figures for national tourism will be exceeded.
In the case of Alicante, tourism is going from strength to strength. Record figures are achieved every year and the sector has become the main pillar of the Alicante economy. With the good results it is difficult to think that the hotel business is not a good business. But the truth is that Alicante is the province of Spain in which the most hotels are sold, 103 at present, according to a report by Cope.
Over the last year, a total of twelve new hotel establishments have been added to the market in Alicante, according to the property portal Idealista. This dozen new hotels in the province means that there are more than a hundred on the market. The only province that remains above 100 announcements, after other areas such as the Balearic Islands, Malaga or Girona have seen their offer move due to the interest in acquiring hotel establishments in these coastal areas, which are in such high demand by national and international tourism.
