According to Lá Razon, the magazine picked the Rías Baixas, after winning in a vote held between January and February by the publication’s readers. The province of Pontevedra has thus beaten four other renowned finalists: Cabo de Gata (Almería), the Costa Daurada (Tarragona), Gran Canaria and the Western Coast of Cantabria.

The magazine itself highlights that the Rías Baixas are a destination of “calm waters, small islands and fishing villages, surrounded by a beautiful green landscape”, and underlines the peaceful atmosphere, inviting you to enjoy the sea, the land and the excellent Galician gastronomy. This award only reaffirms the excellence of a destination that was already an open secret among those looking for more than just sun and beach.
