"Following the internationalization process we began working on two years ago, this year we have invited Txakoli wines from the Basque Country, Spain, to participate in what we hope will be the largest edition ever," said the mayor of Nelas.
Joaquim Amaral argued that the presence of other wine regions "is further support for producers in new markets and new potential, because this fair belongs to them, to the producers, and the better the Dão, the better the entire region."
According to the mayor, the Nelas region will be promoted in the Basque Country, and on the first day of the Dão Wine Fair, there will also be a presentation and tasting of Txakoli wines. The following year, Dão will be present in that region of Spain. At the press conference to present the 34th edition of the Dão Wine Fair, which is, according to the mayor,“the oldest in Dão to take place uninterruptedly”, Joaquim Amaral wished to reach the fifty producers participating in the event.
